Chris Evert, a tennis legend, recently compared the dominance of World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz to Serena Williams’ peak performance, the 23-time Grand Slam champion. At the age of 19, Alcaraz established himself by winning his first Major at the 2022 US Open and rising to the top of the sport by outlasting players like Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal throughout the year. The Spaniard also won his third Masters 1000 championship earlier this month in Indian Wells.
Chris Evert claimed in an interview with Eurosport that Carlos Alcaraz, who is currently “unbeatable” at his best, will require other players to up their game in order to defeat him.
Carlos Alcaraz like Serena Williams
The 18-time Grand Slam winner continued by noting that Serena Williams at her best reminds her of Carlos Alcaraz’s supremacy on the ATP Tour.
“I almost think it’s like when Serena Williams dominated the women’s game and she was playing at her best, there was no way that anybody could beat her. And if she was a little off, that’s when the players could beat her,” Evert commented talking to Eurosport.
