Unfortunately, things didn’t go that well for Stefanos in his first match of the year at the Hopman Cup to lose to the world no. 91 Cameron Norrie 7-6(8) 6-4

Tsitsipas about his physical struggle

In the post-match interview, Stefanos looked extremely tired and he confessed that he needs to understand why he is struggling so much with the hot conditions in Perth.

The Greek commented

“Yes, it was tough from the very beginning. Congratulations to Cameron, he played really well, but I really felt uncomfortable. I don’t know why, probably because of the weather conditions or I don’t know.

I will try to understand why I felt like this, but until now I am going to concentrate on my next match and [to be] a bit more aware of my mistakes.”

About his next steps, he added

“I don’t know. I’ll try to spend more hours on the court practicing in the heat; [I will] work on my fitness a little bit.

The conditions were tougher than in Dubai where I was preparing, and I found the surface a bit slow.”

Next vs. Tiafoe

Stefanos will play his next single against Frances Tiafoe. The head to head is 2-0 for the Greek that will try to bounce back.
