Carlos Alcaraz has been told that he is the “Mike Tyson of tennis” after dispatching Daniil Medvedev 6-3 6-2 to lift the Indian Wells title. Only 70 minutes were all it took for the 19-year-old to snap Medvedev’s 19-match winning streak. And the Russian’s coach has now made the startling connection after saying Alcaraz left his charge “helpless.”
Cervara told L’Equipe: “Alcaraz is the Tyson of tennis. He is able to hit those forehands at certain times with his racket. There were shots with which he put Daniil ten meters from the ball after hitting with insane power and speed.”

At the moment ranked no.1, the Spaniard played his last match on the 19th of March when he overcame world no.5 Daniil Medvedev 6-3 6-2 in the final in Indian Wells to win his 8th career title.
