Simona Halep is one of the most successful tennis players in WTA history, but curiously enough her achievements didn’t make comfortable in asking a photo with Roger Federer.
What happened?
During an interview with the local outlet Digisport, the Romanian confessed that last January she was willing to take a picture with Roger Federer, but she felt embarrassed in doing so.

“I took a photo with Federer, but Darren [her coach] helped me. I was a little bit embarrassed to go ask for it.
His father and I, we met each other, and he told me, ‘I heard you were feeling embarrassed about asking Roger for a photo.’
Federer has an amazing talent, for what he did as a person on court and off it. He is a special person, a man who has a strong character.”
Simona is currently in Romania, and she will kick start her season in Brisbane the 7th of January before competing for the Australian Open later in the month.
