Stefanos has pretty clear what he wants achieve in 2019

Ranked no.15, Stefanos Tsitsipas had a sensational 2018 after winning 2 tournaments (Stockholm and the NextGen Finals in Milan) and reaching a prestigious final in the ATP1000 in Toronto.

The Greek has been working hard during the pre-season also having the great opportunity to train with Roger Federer in Dubai.

The 20-year-old did set up 4 goals for 2019.

Talking to Sport360, Stefanos revealed the following goals:

  1. Playing semis in the Slams;
  2. Winning a Master ATP1000;
  3. Breaking in the top10;
  4. Qualifying for the ATP Finals.

Why Tsitsipas was surprised by this season

The Stefanos added

“I was aware of what was going on, but to be honest with you, I don’t know, I wouldn’t have imagined such a good season like this year.

I played incredible tennis; I played tennis out of my comfort zone, I did things even myself I was actually surprised with. But it’s all because of the hard work I’ve been doing.”

The 1st event of the season

Stefanos will kick-start his season in Perth where he will play the Hopman Cup defending the colors of Team Greece alongside Maria Sakkari.

Stefanos and Maria will play on the 29th of December against Great Britain that is represented by Cameron Norrie and Katie Boulter. Probably the most exciting clash will be the one against Switzerland (3rd of January) when he will have the opportunity to face Roger Federer for the delight of the local crowd.
