Naomi Osaka is more and more in the heart of the Japanese people.

The US Open champion on Monday donated 30 rackets to the children in Hokkaido, an area that has been recently affected by a magnitude 5.0 earthquake.

Osaka’s grandfather Tetsuo, 73, attended the ceremony to say

“Naomi has been worried about the damage from the earthquake and wants to be of help to Hokkaido. We hope children in the affected areas will enjoy playing tennis.

Currently ranked no.5, Naomi is getting ready for the new season hoping to add another slam to her recently started collection.
