Wawrinka cornered by French team in bathroom exchange!

It’s a rather turbulent time for Stan Wawrinka.

The Swiss no.2 had a rather controversial “episode” with Federer after losing the semifinals in London (See article on “Mirkagate”) and now he had another tough encounter with the entire French Team !

According to reports the entire “equipe” cornered Stan in the bathroom soon after the Davis Cup dinner to ask for explanations.

Why the controversy?

It seems that it was Stan (the “cornered Man”) against all of the others and the Swiss had to apologize for some disrespectful things he has said.

It’s not clear what Wawrinka said that made the French to be so upset. Stan criticized the French press saying ”at the start of the week, there were pages and pages written about the crisis between Roger and me, about Roger and his back whereas everything was said to be perfect with the French”

We can’t get anything bad in it.

According to some other reports Stan’s problem was rooted in some statements in April when Tsonga implied that Wawrinka’s title in Melbourne was a fluke “If we had to exchange careers [Tsonga swapping with Wawrinka] … hmm … not sure.  It was only the first time he made the semis at a Slam. Me, I’ve played 6-7 semis. It should have been me, but that’s just the way it is. If he got it, it’s because he deserved it.’

From Benneteau

Julien commented “The guys told him they didn’t like his statements, although he has been “big” on the court he was a “bad” winner. We/I explained this for 5 minutes from man to man. It was never violent but direct and honest”

According to the French Team Stan was a “bad winner”, but they were not “good losers”.
