4 cities named to replace London for the ATP Finals

London may lose the ATP Finals. Here the list of the cities that could take its place.

O2 Arena

The ATP Finals has been a massive success in the past 9 years especially after they were moved from Shanghai to London. The O2 Arena was the perfect place to play the season’s finale, and the local and European crowd helped the organization to make a full house in the past few years.

However, London may lose this great event starting from 2021 as the ATP decided to see the opportunity to choose a new venue.

Tokyo, Singapore, Manchester, and Turin may host the ATP Finals.

London still has the opportunity to host the event in the period between 2021 and 2025, but the City will have to compete with Manchester, Tokyo, Singapore, and Turin.

Tokyo and Singapore seem to be in pole position (alongside London). Tokyo may “unlock” the enormous Japanese market while Singapore has already the experience of hosting the WTA Finals and they promised to put a considerable effort into the initiative.

London set very high-standards/ KERMODE

ATP chief executive and president Chris Kermode commented

“There’s no question that London has set a very high benchmark. With the final shortlist announced today, we believe we will be well-placed to determine the next exciting chapter of a tournament that has come to represent the absolute pinnacle in men’s professional tennis.”

The decision will not be taken before March 2019.
