Tsonga upset with French crowd!

Tsonga didn’t take his Davis Cup loss nicely.

The Frenchman was completely outplayed by Stan Wawrinka and he was not impressed at all by his home crowd.

That was strange as the match was played in front of 27.432 people in the glorious Pierre Mauray stadium in Lille.

Tsonga: there was more support for Stan and Roger

Jo-Wilfred commented ”When the teams were introduced, they applauded Stan more than us, Roger more than us.  I heard the Swiss spectators more than we heard the French ones.”

Tsonga looked quite frustrated after saving a couple of set points when he turned to the crowd asking for some more noise.

That seems odd as there were only 2500 Swiss, but apparently they were seated closer to the court so they were much more visible (and “hearable”) from the pitch.

Stan gave the same explanation ”I think because of the match maybe we were having more support from the Swiss people than the French guy.  think it’s tough to get all the noise from the people really upstairs.”
