Roger Federer will make it!
The Maestro is finally fit to play the first match in Lille against Gael Monfils. Roger didn’t look at his very best on Wednesday on the practice court, but things improved dramatically to allow him to give it a try.
Federer: I am happy where I am today
Roger commented “Obviously if I’m stepping out on the court, that means I can play. That’s most important. I’m just really pleased that I’m actually able to play tomorrow. I’ll give it a go. Definitely looking forward to playing against Gael. I think he’s a great player, very exciting to watch. I like to play against him, too.
So things have been going very well for me the last week. It’s been a difficult week, but I’m happy where I am today.”
Roger will play the second match against Monfils after Wawrinka will take on Tsonga.
Head to Head is 8-2 for Roger. 4-0 for the Maestro on clay… but this is going to be an all different story.
