Emma Raducanu is meant to play against Danka Kovinic in her opening match in Indian Wells. Unfortunately, there are possibilities that Emma cannot even compete in the desert since she is still struggling with her wrist injury. Raducanu had to cut short the last part of her 2022 season because of this issue, and apparently the injury is still bothering her. She canceled her participation in the Eisenhower Cup exhibition match, where she was scheduled to partner with Cameron Norrie.
Talking to the BBC, Emma revealed:
“The same issue that I had last year has stared to flare back up. I’ve definitely been managing my load. It’s something that has just come back, so I’m trying to be as cautious as possible.
I’m going to do everything I can to be there tomorrow. I think we always play through pain and it’s just a matter of how much can you take – I’m looking forward to hopefully being out there tomorrow.”
