Taylor Fritz received a cold handshake from Iga Swiatek in the Eisenhower Cup Tiebreak Tens championship match after the American hit her in the body. Tennis supporters rushed to defend the Pole and denounce Fritz for the incident.
In the Tiebreak Tens final at the Eisenhower Cup, Swiatek and Hubert Hurkacz of Team Poland faced off against Fritz and Aryna Sabalenka of Team Forehand Fear. A donation of $20000 to the winner’s preferred charity was the reward at stake. Iga Swiatek narrowly avoided being hit by a powerful return during the match that Taylor Fritz hit straight at her. At the conclusion of the match, the score was 10-8 in favor of Sabalenka and Fritz. Taylor Fritz received a quick, cold handshake from Swiatek while they were shaking hands at the net.
