Emma Raducanu has gained momentum after being granted direct entry into the upcoming Indian Wells WTA 1000 tournament. Previously, the Brit needed a wildcard because she did not meet the ranking cutoff point. However, Emma will directly access the main draw after Ana Bogdan had to pull out of the tournament. It follows a recent setback for the world No. 80, when tonsillitis forced her to withdraw from this week’s ATX Open in Austin.

Now ranked no.80, the Brit played her last match on the 18th of January when she surrendered to world no.6 Cori Gauff 6-3 7-6(4) in the 2nd round of the Australian Open (draw).
At present, during this year Emma has managed to achieve a 2-2 match record.
She is also scheduled to play in Miami (Miami Open) after Indian Wells. The main draw will start on the 8th of March.
