Federer trashes Murray 6-0 6-1!

After the first day when Wawrinka and Djokovic defeated with the same nasty result Berdych and Cilic, everybody was talking about the worst ever defeats in the Word Tour Finals history.

The worst one was inflicted by Roger Federer  to Gaudio in the 2005 semifinal when Roger won in 50 minutes with a telling 6-0 6-0, yesterday against Murray that wasn’t so different.

Roger won 6-0 6-1 in just 56 and the Swiss was absolutely close to double-bagel Murray as he was leading 6-0 5-0 0-30 on Andy’s serve. Then the Scott found the energy to win that game to get the loudest cheers from the home crowd.

There is not much to say about this match besides the obvious fact that Roger was dominant from all over the court, even from the baseline which means that Murray didn’t have a chance.  The interesting part was that Roger’s  most important weapon (the serve) wasn’t even working with the Maestro putting only 38% of the first serve in (but he won all 14 points). Eventually Roger scored 52 points vs. Murray’s 24.

Federer: I played on my terms

Roger commented “I had the upper hand from the baseline, which hasn’t always happened against him. But I definitely was able to play on my terms. For me, things went very well. I was able to put Andy under pressure very often, and I think the match couldn’t have gone any better for me really.”

The interesting part is that Roger came out this terrible group without losing a single set a conceding only 13 games, 6 of those in the second set of the match against Raonic when won 6-1 7-6 (0).

The funny part for Murray is that he did a gigantic effort to qualify for the World Tour Finals to have a terrible seasons finale and end 2014 in the word possible way. Next year it will be better.
