Andy Murray is looking forward to coming back to the competitions after he has skipped almost the entire season because of his hip operation.

After skipping Wimbledon, Andy tried to get back to the tour in Washington where he reached the quarters after winning 3 tough 3-setters. His body couldn’t take it and he got the right decision to withdraw in the quarters before facing De Minaur.

It’s not OK to give up

However, the tournament director wasn’t happy when he knew that Andy was about to take that decision to comment

“I hope that Andy really takes into consideration this role in his sport and as a global role model to guys and girls on the tour and kids around the world that, when things are difficult and tough and the conditions aren’t great, it’s not OK to just give up.”

During a QA session on Instagram when asked if the Brit was ready to compete in Washington this year, Andy replied: “Probably not after the tournament director rinsed me.”

Can you blame him?
