Former Serena Williams coach Patrick Mouratoglou recently predicted that Carlos Alcaraz would soon face difficult pressure situations. After winning his first Grand Slam singles title at the 2022 US Open, the former World No. 1 enjoyed an incredibly successful 2022 season.

Alcaraz was able to become the youngest player to top the ATP singles rankings thanks to his first Grand Slam victory. But because of his injury, the Spaniard was forced to sit out a lot of tennis matches. Last week at the Argentina Open, he made his comeback. Former Williams, Simona Halep, and Stefanos Tsitsipas coach Mouratoglou recently foresaw Carlos Alcaraz’s upcoming days on tour. The French coach, 52, shared a video on social media. He discussed how the young Spanish player handles pressure in it, particularly given the fact that he is also a former World No. 1 on the tour.

Mouratoglou commented: “I think Carlos is someone that handles the pressure well but I think he’ll have pressure. Maybe, he doesn’t realize yet but when he will be there, having to defend titles, having been No. 1 in the world with all the expectations that come with it, he’ll feel it and it’s normal.”
