Novak Djokovic is well-known for his amazing mental toughness. During his unique career, the Serbian champion won all sorts of impossible matches and tournaments, even when he was injured. During his third-round match against Taylor Fritz at the Australian Open in 2021, Novak Djokovic tore a muscle in his abdomen, but he still managed to win the tournament. On his days off, Djokovic did not train, and most of his time was spent receiving treatment from his physiotherapist Ulises Badio. This year, he conquered the 2023 Australian Open title struggling with a 3cm tear on his hamstring.

What Alcaraz’s coach said about Djokovic

Former world number 1 and Carlos Alcaraz coach Juan Carlos Ferrero, during a recent interview, confessed that he was amazed at how Novak Djokovic found his way during the last Australian Open. The Spaniard commented: “I see it as difficult [managing that injury], if it were so, Djokovic would move as he did. Obviously, if he has the ability to withstand brutal pain, which may be, good for him, and he deserved to win,”
