Carlos Alcaraz’s 2022 season was cut short by an ab injury before he suffered a leg injury during preseason practice, preventing him from competing at the Australian Open. He finally made his long-awaited return to competition last week in Argentina. At his first tournament in more than four months, the 19-year-old won his seventh career championship, but he later admitted that he had not handled himself in the “right” manner while off the tour.

“I felt a bit guilty after the injury,” said Carlito

His coach and mentor, Juan Carlos Ferrero, commented to RNE: “If he has talked about that, it is because it has happened.

I think it influences him that he reached the top very young. He has to look in the mirror of Rafa [Nadal], Roger [Federer] or Novak [Djokovic], to achieve things that nobody has achieved and they have continued fighting and fighting for these types of objectives.”
