Dmitry Tursunov, the coach, admitted he wasn’t pleased with the way his talks with Emma Raducanu and his camp were progressing, and that’s why he decided to cut ties with the British athlete. Following Wimbledon, Raducanu temporarily added coach Tursunov. During the North American hard court swing, Raducanu performed admirably, and it was thought that she had decided to retain Tursunov permanently. Tursunov made the decision to part ways with Raducanu and begin working with a different WTA player in October, who later turned out to be Belinda Bencic.
Talking on The Craig Shapiro Tennis Podcast, Tursunov commented:
“I stopped the negotiations. I felt like the negotiations went too long. Too far, that wasn’t a solid commitment, not on the terms that I liked. We started to negotiate over things that were so trivial and insignificant in my mind that it wouldn’t have worked. I didn’t feel secure enough. I didn’t feel like it’s a serious set up I didn’t feel like it’s gonna be a long-term relationship. I felt like it at any point,it can break over something insignificant and I could have been wrong maybe I had PTSD, you know, from previous relationships.”

LWWLLWWLWW Ranked no.81, Emma played her last match on the 18th of January when she surrendered to world no.6 Cori Gauff 6-3 7-6(4) in the 2nd round of the Australian Open (draw).
At the moment, during this season Emma has managed to achieve a 2-2 win-loss record.
She is also scheduled to play in Indian Wells (BNP Paribas Open) after Austin. The main draw will start on the 27th of February.
