Djokovic trashes Raonic, wins 20th Master title in Paris

The rule of the game was the same as Raonic-Federer’s match: neutralizing Milos’ serve. Djokovic did it, Roger failed.

The world no.1 confirmed to be one of the best (or the best?) returner of the game to have no major problems in taming Milos’ (only) serious weapon: the serve. The Serbian broke Raonic  3 times without ever dropping his serve.  Nole had just a couple of awkward service games in the first set to save 4 break points, but besides that there was no match.

In the opening set Nole broke Raonic in the second game (2-0) to break him again in the last game (6-2). In the second set Djokovic broke Raonic again in the 2nd game (2-0) to hold the rest of his service games at “love” or “15”. The match ended 6-2 6-3 after 83 minutes. Match Stats

New Records for Djokovic

With this win Nole achieves his 600th victory; he grabs his 20th Master title and his 47th trophy (the 6th of the season). Nole will also be now 1310pts ahead of Federer to be “almost sure” to the seasons as the deserving world no.1 for the 3rd time after 2011 and 2012.

Djokovic: I’ll try to stay focus

Nole feels comfortable now for the season finale “I see it better now than one week ago, that’s for sure. It helps that I won the title in Bercy, that I’m playing well, and that I’m feeling good about myself on the court playing indoors. That encourages me, as I said before, prior to the last event of the year.

Now I cannot affect his matches. I can affect only what I can do in my own matches. So I’ll try to stay focused on what I need to do and play well in London. Every match that I play and win gets me closer to holding No. 1 at the end of the year.”
