Djokovic, Raonic to clash for Paris title

Djokovic vs. Raonic is be the 2014 final in Bercy.

DJOKOVIC

Nole had one of his “perfect” tournaments to reach the final without dropping a single set. The semis against Kei Nishikori wasn’t that difficult as the Japanese was visibly tired after his 2 hours and 43 minutes marathon in the previous round again David Ferrer.

Nole had his revenge against Nishikori that defeated him at the recent US Open in just 62 minutes. The Serbian scored 60 points vs Nishikori’s 36. Kei was able to win only 2 second serve (of 16) to be broken 4 times. Match Stats.

After the match a happy Djokovic commented “It was a great match. I haven’t dropped a set getting into the finals. I definitely feel fresh and motivated to play well tomorrow. We could see Kei wasn’t serving at his best, maybe he was fatigued from finishing late last night. Regardless, I played well and concentrated on what I needed to do. I served exceptionally well in the important moments and it’s something that encourages me for tomorrow.

RAONIC

Milos had a tough battle against Tomas Berdych. The match was absolutely even and he was decided by a horrible (last) service game from Berdych that committed 2 double faults to give the match to the Canadian.

Milos commented “I got a little fortunate there at the end of the match. I was focusing on my service games. I know that’s where my game starts from; I’ve got to take care of my serve. Fortunately, I was able to do so and it worked out at the end there. I’m grateful and I’ve got to keep pushing forward.”

An upset Berdych said “I just totally messed it up with the last game. It was definitely the worst game I ever played here at this tournament this year. You have days like this where things are going well, and then just at the last moment, everything is gone.”

Head to Head Djokovic – Raonic

Nole and Milos have played each other 3 times always on clay. Head to head is 3-0 for the Serbian. Raonic might have some chances to win only if his serve works well, otherwise Djokovic will definitely defend his title.
