Holger Rune was hoping to have a good run in Rotterdam but Eventually, he had to stop in the second round. The Danish player could not complete his match against world no.160 Gijs Brouwer because of a wrist injury. Holger also got injured to his right wrist when he fell at the Australian Open. It is not clear if Ruen is still having issues with his wrist because of that fall.

Ranked world no.9 (career-high), Rune played his last match on the 16th of February when he had to retire when playing against world no.160 Gijs Brouwer in the 2nd round and the scoreline was 6-4 4-0 .
