After a great tournament in Singapore there have been a couple of changes in the rankings
SERENA
OK, no changes here. Serena closes the season as the deserving world no.1. Serena has won 7 titles this year with 1 slam (US Open) and the WTA finals included. No bad! See details
IVANOVIC
The Serbian Beauty is back! Ana had a great season to win 4 tournaments (Auckland, Monterrey, Birmingham and Tokyo) and reach 2 finals (Stuttgart and Cincinnati). Ana still needs to shine in Slams. Ivanovic closes the season as the world no.5
HALEP
Simona had a super 2014 to win 2 tournaments (Bucharest and Doha) and reach the prestigious finals in Madrid, Paris (French Open) and in Singapore. The Romanian has definitely a shot at becoming world no.1 in 2015. Now no.3
BOUCHARD
Genie had definitely a breakthrough season, but the end was a bit miserable. The Canadian has won her maiden (and only) tournament in Nurnberg, she reached the finals in Wuhan and in Wimbledon and she got to the semifinals in Melbourne and Paris. Unfortunately Genie didn’t end 2014 on a high note to record the worst performance in the WTA finale’s history. After the recent disaster in Singapore she lost 2 places to be ranked no.7. She will definitely bounce back in January.
