After winning consecutive WTA 125 tournaments in 2022 and defeating world No. 5 Caroline Garcia in the Lyon Open final the previous week, Parks shot up the rankings.
In Lyon, the 22-year-old demonstrated that she currently has one of the biggest serves on the WTA Tour. Alycia Parks can win a Grand Slam, according to tennis pundit Rennae Stubbs, who likened her booming serve to Serena Williams at her best.
Alycia blasted 52 aces over the course of her five matches. Stubbs, a former world number one in doubles, believes Parks will break into the top 10 in the coming year. During a recent podcast, she commented:

Now the world no.51 (career-high), Parks played her last match on the 8th of February when she surrendered to world no.31 Anhelina Kalinina 6-2 7-5 in the 1st round in Linz (draw).
This year Alycia owns an overall 6-2 win-loss record. Parks has won 1 title in Lyon.
Parks has scheduled to play next in Doha (Qatar TotalEnergies Open). She will start the tournament from the qualifications on the 13th of February.
