Ons Jabeur gives bad news to her fans after announcing that she will have to undergo a minor injury so as to skip the tournaments in Doha and Dubai. The Tunisian player released the following statement on social media.

“In order to take care of my health situation. My medical team have decided that I need to get a minor surgery in order to be able to be back on the courts and perform well. I will have to retire from Doha and Dubai and this is breaking my heart.

I would like to say sorry to all the fans out there in the middle east that waited for this reunion. I promise I will come back to you stronger and healthy.”

At the moment ranked no.3, the Tunisian played her last match on the 19th of January when she capitulated to world no.89 Marketa Vondrousova 6-1 5-7 6-1 in the 2nd round of the Australian Open (draw).

Presently, during this year Jabeur has managed to achieve a 3-2 record. Ons Jabeur’s best accomplishment of the current year was reaching the semifinal in Adelaide.
