It took only 94 minutes for David Ferrer to win his 3rd title in Auckland. Apparently he likes so much the place that according to his own words ‘I hope I will come back here every year of my life’.
Talking about statistics and the consistency of the Spaniard he now won 52 of his last 53 games vs players ranked outside the top 50. This shows how consistent and merciless is his tennis.
‘I’ve never won a tournament three times,’ he said. ‘I’ve said all week I like to play here but this win is more special than the other ones. For me, every year it’s more difficult to win a tournament because each year I get older.
‘I am very confident. I won the tournament so it’s perfect. Of course I’m a little tired, but I prefer to win here and go to Australia tired.’
