Caroline Wozniacki wins an amazing match against an always combative Maria Sharapova. The Dane had a clear shot at winning the match in straight sets after leading 7-6 5-3, but we all know that Maria never gives up. The Russian managed to incredibly bounce back and win the second set at the tiebreak. Caroline got an early 2-0 lead, but once again Maria managed to make it even (2-2). At that point it was everything just about Caroline that conceded just 5 points in the following 4 games to finally win 7-6 (4) 6-7 (5) 6-2 after 3 hours and 13 minutes.

The Dane commented “I’m feeling a little tired! But it was a great match. The first one is always tough, getting your rhythm and getting used to everything out there, but in the third set I felt like I really stepped it up out there and really started going for my shots more.
