Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert keep Team France alive.
What happened?
Team Croatia got a strong 2-0 lead on Friday against the French team after Borna Coric and Marin Cilic dispatched in straight sets Jeremy Chardy and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (that ended up in tears).
Eventually, Mahut and Herbert had to step in on Saturday and they defeated 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(3) Mate Pavic and Ivan Dodig.
The Croatian team looks to be still very much in charge as it is leading 2-1 before the final matches on Sunday and with a “theoretical” upper hand on both matches. In fact, Cilic is definitely the favorite against Chardy (would Pouille be a better choice?) and Coric should be the favorite against Tsonga.
