Novak Djokovic confirms he was not impressed with De Minaur’s comments about him

The Serbian defeated the No. 22 seed in five games or less to advance to the round of eight and advance his quest for a record-tying 10th Melbourne title.

Novak Djokovic And Alex De Minaur

Alex de Minaur has received a surprising sharp rebuke from Novak Djokovic after the Serbian defeated the Australian in their fourth-round matchup on Monday. In two hours and six minutes, Djokovic destroyed de Minaur at Melbourne Park, proving that he is a force to be reckoned with.

Djokovic defeated the No. 22 seed in five games or less to advance to the round of eight and advance his quest for a record-tying 10th Melbourne title and 22nd major championship overall.

In his post-match on-court interview, Djokovic delivered a harsh comment about de Minaur. He was more direct in his post-match news conference with the media. Before the 2022 Open, a journalist had baited him with a question about remarks de Minaur had made during the Serbian’s deportation incident.

Djokovic replied: “I don’t have any relationship with him. I respect him as a rival, a colleague, as I respect everyone. I have no problem contacting him, congratulating him, etc. But I don’t have any other relationship. I don’t have any communication with him. He showed in 2022 what he thinks about me.”

last year during the deportation saga Alex De Minaur was extremely vocal criticizing Novak Djokovic, saying that he has “taken a lot of spotlight away from us competitors.”
