Novak Djokovic won an incredible Roland Garros title in the 2021 final after defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas, trailing 2 sets 6-76 2-6 6-3 6-2 6-4. Djokovic and Tsitsipas may very well clash again in a slam final at the current Australian Open. During a recent press conference, Novak Djokovic confirmed that, in his view, Stefanos Tsitsipas is the most experienced player still alive in the draw. However, the Serbian champion stressed the fact that Stefanos has never played a final in a major, forgetting that match in 2021.
Novak said: “I know Tsitsipas, for example, probably the most experienced guy out of all of them, all the quarterfinalists. He has played already the fined stages of a Grand Slam quite a few times. I think he has never played a final. Am I wrong?”
A journalist said: “You beat him in Roland Garros. Paris, it was a good match, you came back.”
Djokovic smiled at his blunder, saying: “That’s right. That’s right. Sorry, my bad.”
