Elena Rybakina won a sensational Wimbledon title in 2022 and her coach Stefano Vukov will have a permanent reminder about that on his arm.

As Elena Rybakina’s ascent up the rankings became obvious in February 2020, she and her coach Stefano Vukov placed a sly wager at the Qatar Open. He declared that he would get a tattoo of her name if she won Wimbledon. She noted his promise but promptly forgot about it. Soon after, Covid struck, and she instead spent the next two years trying to regain her shape.

Rybakina’s name and the date of this year’s Wimbledon final are permanently inked on Vukov’s right arm as a reminder of this wonderful summer.

Rybakina once commented: “I already forgot [that we had the bet]. We were laughing around. Before the final, he told me that he would do it. So, he did it. For me, it’s still crazy, I can’t believe it. But it is what it is. We had a bet.”
