Marin Cilic and Ajla Tomljanovic were unable to compete in the recent Australian Open because of a knee injury. Eventually, both of them announced that they decided to undergo an operation.
This was Ajla post on social media:
“Update! This morning I had a minor procedure done on my knee that went very well. Sadly I won’t be around the next few months, but I’m Happy I did the necessary steps to get fully healthy Great things take time and rehab starts very soon! I can’t wait to get back out there «Ad Appreciate all your sweet messages and words of support, doesn’t go unnoticed ** Ajla”

Currently ranked no.18, the Croatian played his last match on the 4th of January when he overcame world no.75 Roberto Carballes Baena 6-3 3-6 6-1
in the 2nd round in Pune (draw).This season the Croatian has achieved a composed 1-0 win-loss record.

Now the world no.35, Tomljanovic played her last match on the 13th of November 2022 when she lost to world no.10 Belinda Bencic 6-2 6-1 in the Rubber 2 in (draw).
This season the Australian has achieved an overall 38-27 record.
Tomljanovic is scheduled to compete next in Hua Hin (Thailand Open). She will start from the main draw that will commence on the 30th of January.
