Coco Gauff starts her run at the Australian Open in the best possible way with a straightforward win over world no.48 Katerina Siniakova (6-1 6-4). The American sensation will face 2021 U.S. Open champion Emma Raducanu in the second round. During the on-court interview in Melbourne, Coco Gauff commented:
“[I am] Really pleased with myself. Katerina is a fighter. I knew she was going to fight until the last point and she proved that today. I’m glad I stayed mentally right there.”
