ROLAND GARROS? Rafael Nadal talks about retirement before the Australian Open

Rafael Nadal was quite surprised by what Alexander Zverev said about his potential retirement in 2023

Rafael Nadal

Recently in Melbourne, Alexander Zverev stated that, in his opinion, Rafael Nadal will likely retire after the Roland Garros. That statement took many people by surprise since it seemed as if the German player had some confidential information.

Nevertheless, Rafael Nadal has said that it is not true that he plans to retire after the upcoming French Open. He added that even if he shares a good relationship with Zverev, he would not share this kind of decision with him.

“I have a very good relationship with Zverev, but not enough to confess something like that to him,” he said. “The reality is that I’m here to play tennis, try to have a great 2023, fight for everything that I have struggled with throughout my career and I don’t think about my retirement.”
