Rafa to the Beijing quarters, but not 100% happy

Rafael Nadal is rarely 100% happy and probably this is why he has become such a legend.

The King of Clay has defeated Peter Gojowczyk 6-3 6-4 in 1 hour and 45 minutes (see match stats), but he wasn’t convinced by his tennis so far (probably he has forgot he trashed Richard Gasquet in the first round 6-4 6-0).

Nadal: I need to improve

Rafa commented “In general I need to improve. It’s obvious. My serve worked well today. But in general I need more rhythm on the legs, more rhythm on the shots. I am playing okay, trying to not miss a lot, trying to play with not too many risks. That’s what I did today. It’s the only way to have matches, only way to have rhythm.”

The quarters vs. Klizan

The good news for the world no.2 are that he will not play against Gulbis in the quarters (Rafa often struggles against Ernests), but he will face Martin Klizan.

Head to head is 2-0 for Rafa that has defeated Klizan both times with the same result 4-6 6-3 6-3 6-3 in Wimbledon 2014 and at the Roland Garros in 2013.
