Rafael Nadal is very happy to be back to competitions, but he has to acknowledge that his wrist still hurts. Few days ago the Spaniard has won an exhibition against Tsonga (see article), now he is about to test his wrist on a “more serious” event in Beijing.
During a recent interview at the China Open Rafa commented ”The injury in my wrist, as I said before, I cannot say 100 percent because I still feel something when I start for the first five minutes of the practice. ‘But in general the injury is not limiting me to compete.”
Rafa had a very nasty draw in Beijing to play Richard Gasquet in the first round and then probably Karlovic, Gulbis and Berdych before reaching the final. (see article)
The first match against Richard will provide very interesting indications about Rafa’s overall fitness. Let’s see and hope for the best!
