Emma Raducanu Injured

Emma Raducanu was extremely happy with her overall fitness before starting the new season. Unfortunately, the British sensation rolled her ankle when playing in Auckland. Emma retired in tears because she did not have many days to recover before the Australian Open. While it is unclear what the entity of her injury is, at least it’s a good sign that she did not decide to be back in the UK.

Emma was extremely upset after getting injured, saying that the conditions of the indoor course in Auckland were extremely slippery and she was not even surprised that something like that happened.

Tournament director, Nicolas Lamperin, responded to her allegations saying: “We are obviously very sorry about Emma’s injury. As every player, they work really hard in the off-season. That’s not what you expect when you play a tournament in week one.

However, injuries happen all the time and it could have happened on outdoor courts as well. We feel sorry about the situation but we also say these courts are fit to play.”
