Rafael Nadal did not have the run he was hoping for at the Unite Cup after losing both his matches against Cameroon Norrie and Alex De Minaur. Nevertheless, after losing to Alex De Minaur, Rafael Nadal still looked positive about his chances at the upcoming Australian Open.
“I have two weeks before the Australian Open starts. I can’t say the situation is ideal, but at the same time, I can’t say it’s negative because for some moments, I was playing good,” Nadal commented.
“I think that two matches are going to help me. I need to win a couple of matches. But the level wasn’t that bad. Putting in perspective that I arrived needing a little bit more time.
“I’m not too alarmed, too negative about what happened. I think it was a real chance to lose this kind of match. Last year I lost two matches in Abu Dhabi, and that’s it.”
