David Goffin is having an unbelievable season. After winning 3 Challengers back to back, the Belgian has managed to win 2 ATP titles in Kitzbuhel and now win Metz.
David had no problems at all in beating Sousa in straight sets in the final conceding just 7 games (6-4 6-3).
Goffin: This was a special title
After winning the title David commented “This is very special because my family was here today. That’s the advantage of playing close to home. Winning my second title feels just as good as the first one. I’m very happy.”
Sousa: It was still a great week
Joao was still very happy about his tournament “I have to congratulate David on a fantastic week. Even if I lost today, it was a great week for me as well, reaching the final. I hope that I can come back next year and hopefully go one step further.”
David has won 34 of his last 36 matches, it seems that more is about to come. It’s a player to watch in 2015.
