Ivanovic triumphs in Tokyo!

What a great year for Ana Ivanovic! The Serbian is back in the top10 and it seems she can go for more.

Ana has just won her 4th title of the seasons (the 15th of her career) after beating Caroline Wozniacki 6-2 7-6 (2).  The key moment of the match was when Ivanovic recovered from a 1-3 deficit in the second set winning 5 of the next 8 games. At that point the Serbian had a clear upper hand over Caroline to win the tie break with a comfortable 7-2.

Ana wins this title after playing an incredible tournament beating Azarenka, Safarova, Kerber and Wozniacki without dropping a single set.

Ana: It’s an amazing feeling to win this title.

The Serbian commented “Caroline played a great match today. It was a really good battle out there – there were some very tough moments, especially in the second set. But I just tried to take it one point at a time, and I’m really happy to make it through. It’s just an amazing feeling to win this title.”

After this win Ana will be closer from qualifying from Singapore to be ranked no.5 in the year to date rankings.

“I’m really happy that this is one step closer to the WTA Finals in Singapore. It’s coming close and everything’s on the line.” said Ivanovic.
