Iga Swiatek was the undisputed leader on the WTA tour in 2022 and it seems she will keep her form or so this season. In her opening match, the world number 1 demolished Yulia Putintseva 6-1 6-3 and she also impressed when playing doubles.
In a United Cup mixed doubles match on Sunday, Swiatek and fellow Pole Hubert Hurkacz faced Kazakhstan’s Zhibek Kulambayeva and Grigoriy Lomakin. Swiatek completed a lengthy rally with a stunning around-the-net winner to end the opening set in glory.
Iga asked for a comment from Roger Federer, who is famous for striking this kind of shot. Roger said: “That was crazy.”
