Ana Ivanovic is definitely bidding to play the season finale in Singapore. Now ranked no.10, the Serbian Beauty will get closer to the WTA finals if she defeats Caroline Wozniacki in the Tokyo final.
Ana defeated seed no.1 Angelique Kerber in the semifinal 7-5 6-3. Ana was 3-5 down in the opening set to win the following 10 of 13 games and grab a place in the final.
Ana: it took time to adapt
The world no.10 commented “In the beginning it really took me some time to adjust to her game. It wasn’t like my previous matches. But once I adjusted and got more aggressive it started to go my way, and I’m really happy with the win today because she’s always such a tough and challenging opponent.”
The final vs. Wozniacki
Ana will play Caroline Wozniacki in the final. The Dane has defeated a sticky Muguruza 6-4 2-6 6-2. Head to head is 4-2 for Ivanovic that has won the last 2 matches against Caroline. Probably the Serbian is the favorite, but it can really go any way.
