Nick Kyrgios was heavily criticized by his would-be Australian teammates (and captain) after he retired from the United Cup a few hours before the beginning of the competition. Nick said that he wanted to protect his injured ankle, but Lleyton Hewitt revealed that he just didn’t want to communicate with him.
Kyrgios’s’ former girlfriend, Ajla Tomljanovic, was also part of the team, but she had to retire, citing a left knee injury. Kyrgios didn’t miss the opportunity to blast Sam Stosur (who had previously criticized him) with the following tweet.
