In 2022, Rafael Nadal and Francisca Perello (Mery Xisca) welcomed their first child. Rafael is the same name as the baby’s father. During a recent interview, Rafael Nadal stressed how important the role of his wife was in his life and career.
Xisca was having a complicated pregnancy and apparently Rafael Nadal was not sure if he wanted to go and play the US Open. However, Rafa revealed that his wife convinced him to compete in the last slam of the year.
“Fortunately, I have a courageous wife who has always helped me in everything she could and much more. She has always encouraged me to continue. It was she who encouraged me to go to the United States. It cost me more, but I also broke my abdomen again the week before the US Open,” said Nadal.

Nadal has scheduled to play next in Australian Open (Australian Open). He will start to play the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 16th of January.
