Rafael Nadal has recently announced that his historical coach Francisco Roig would have left his team for a new project. Rafa and Francisco worked together for almost 20 years, but the coach decided to try a new challenge with Sloane Stephens.

Rafael Nadal in 2022
Ranked world no.2, Nadal played his last match on the 17th of November when he beat world no.3 Casper Ruud 7-5 7-5 in the round robin in the Nitto ATP Finals (draw).
Until now, during this year Rafael has a compiled 39-8 win-loss record. Rafael has won 4 titles in 2022 in Melbourne, Australian Open, Acapulco and French Open. Rafael reached the final in Indian Wells.
Nadal is scheduled to compete next in Australian Open (Australian Open). He will begin to play the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 16th of January.
Sloane Stephens in 2022
Now ranked no.37, Sloane played her last match on the 21st of October when she surrendered to world no.3 Jessica Pegula 6-2 6-2 in the quarter in Guadalajara (draw).
This season the American has managed to achieve a composed 18-17 win-loss record. Sloane conquered 1 title in Guadalajara.
Stephens has scheduled to play next in Auckland (ASB Classic). She will start to play the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 2nd of January.
