Nick Kyrgios and Naomi Osaka are set to invest in pickleball, launching the Miami Pickleball Club. Naomi Osaka will invest alongside ATP star Nick Kyrgios, the Wimbledon champion in 2022, and ex-ATP Top 10 player Mardy Fish in a Miami-based team. While ATP star John Isner is on board as an investor for the Dallas team, Hall of Famers Tracy Austin, Chris Evert, Lindsay Davenport, and Gigi Fernández have invested in a Chicago team.
Following the merger of MLP and the competing Professional Pickleball Association last month, which increased the number of teams in the league from 12 to 24, the 12 new teams have joined.
Nick Kyrgios and Naomi Osaka will be in great company in their investment since Kim Clijsters, a five-time Grand Slam champion, and Tom Brady, the Super Bowl champion, both announced their plans to invest in a league team in October.
