
Alexander Zverev is close to being back to official competition after being sidelined for 7 months following the ankle injury suffered during the Roland Garros semifinal against Rafael Nadal. Sascha will lead team Germany in the newly-minted United Cup that will kick start on the 29th of December.
The United Cup, which will be held in Perth, Sydney, and Brisbane at the end of September, has placed Germany in a group with the USA and the Czech Republic. Germany will play in Sydney.

Ranked world no.12, the German played his last match on the 3rd of June when he had to retire when playing against world no.2 Rafael Nadal in the semifinal and the scoreline was 7-6(8) 6-6 .
Currently, during this season Zverev owns a 29-10 win-loss record. Alexander Zverev’s most significant accomplishment of the current year was reaching the final in Montpellier and Madrid.
After the United Cup, Zverev will compete next in Australian Open (Australian Open). He will start to play the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 16th of January.
