Novak Djokovic is one of the greatest tennis players in history. The Serbian legend has won all sorts of titles and broken many records. Nevertheless, he still misses one extremely important title for him: a gold medal at the Olympic Games.
At the postponed Tokyo Olympics in 2021, Djokovic was the heavy favorite. However, he was defeated by the eventual champion Alexander Zverev before falling to Pablo Carreno Busta in the bronze medal match.
During a recent interview with the Serbian media, Novak commented: “An Olympic medal, especially gold, is always a big wish. I rewound my match with Zverev in Tokyo many times, trying to figure out what went wrong. I played superbly up to a point, but I did feel I was running on fumes, both mentally and physically.”
Novak will try his luck again at the upcoming Olympic Games that will be staged in Paris in 2024.
