Jannik Sinner didn’t have the year he was hoping for, ending the season ranked only number 15 after winning “only” 1 tournament in Umag. Early in the year, the South Tyrolean player took the tough decision to part ways with his historical coach and mentor Riccardo Piatti and start a project with his actual coach Simone Vagnozzi.

Jannik had to face a lot of setbacks during the year when he was forced to stop a lot of time for injuries. During a recent podcast with the ATP, Jannik said that he is still very happy with how things are going

It’s going very well with Simone Vagnozzi. We work a lot from a physical point of view and now the most important phase for us will begin, the winter preparation. In the coming weeks, we will have the opportunity to work a lot. I am convinced that my body will be stronger. Also, from a technical point of view, we will have the opportunity to fine-tune and automate more and more the innovations we have been working on this year.”

Anak Sina also confirmed that one of his main goals for the season will be to qualify for the ATP Finals in Turin.
