Novak Djokovic’s participation in the Australian Open not well received by many Australians.

Despite the luxury of having Novak Djokovic playing again at the Australian Open, it seems that not everyone agrees with his participation through the first slam of the year

We received the fantastic news that Novak Djokovic will be cleared to compete in the Australian Open in January after the lifting of his 3-year ban. The Serbian sensation was deported from Australia last year because he was not vaccinated. However, things and the government have changed this year, and local fans will have once again the privilege of seeing him in action at the Rod Laver Arena once again. But are the Australians happy to see Novak back Down Under?

According to a recent Sydney Morning Herald poll, only 30% of Australians support the decision to allow Djokovic to enter the country again.

In addition, 41% of respondents, down from 71% in January, said he shouldn’t be allowed to stay and compete in the Australian Open. The results show that there is less opposition than there was at the beginning of 2022 to Djokovic playing at Melbourne Park; the results also indicate that the deportation saga has left a lasting stain on his reputation.
